Older: Palm IIIx Handheld

(1999) A Python port for the PalmOS computing platform is now available. See Pippy home page for downloads and more details; to go straight to some Pippy screen-shots, click here. Among other things, the port includes the Python socket module, thereby enabling client and server-side Internet scripting on your Palm. You can also talk to it through a Python API ("Pyrite") on your desktop or laptop. The IIIx shown here is shipped with 4M memory, a 16 Mhz motorola processor, a 160 x 160 grayscale screen, and a 2-month battery life on 2 AAA batteries. It measures in at 4.7" x 3.2" x 0.7", and 6 oz. Here is 3Com's site. A color palm with 8M memory was recently announced.
