(4/97) I'm writing an 80-page (est.) introductory chapter on Python for
an upcoming programming languages book. More details will appear here
as they are made public (see update on my main web page).

(2/97) I'll be giving a 1-hour talk on Python, at the March meeting of the
FRUUG (front range UNIX users group).

(2/97) You can now download updated "Programming Python" program
examples from the new example diffs page.
The corrected examples (4) appear in the second printing of the book.
The complete errata page lists all book updates.
Note: the second printing isn't a 2nd edition--it just fixes some
minor typos.

to answer questions about Python and the O'Reilly Python book. Here's
a copy of the announcement.

O'Reilly Python book
is shipping! It was released on October 11, 1996, and should be available in
stores in the US by Thursday, October 17, or shortly after. O'Reilly accepts
