Cutting:

Once your pages have been printed, you will want to cut each full-length page in half (cut off the excess white paper or pages for the next signature at the bottom of each page). You should end up with 5½” x 8½” sheets of paper.

Cut edges are smoothest when you use a paper cutter, but they can be cut slowly with a scissors. They should be cut at the 5.5” line. For a small fee, you can have a copy shop cut your papers exactly in half.

Folding:

Once your pages are cut, the next step is to fold them. You will need to fold each sheet of paper in half into 4.25” x 5.5” squares. Each sheet should be folded individually. Then put the cap on a pen and flatten each fold with it.

Collating:

Once each page is folded, you can put the signatures in order. Make page 2 follow page 1, page 3 follow page 4, etc. You will end up with one to a hundred signatures that have four sheets of paper and sixteen sheets in each signature.
